People who come to Amancio's usually order pizza and pasta, and most leave happy. One visiting couple started with an antipasto and followed with pizza, all served on rustic wooden boards, with friendly, professional service; another table praises the flavor of the pizza and says prices are fair for the size of the portions, and a regular who has been back several times says it has never let them down. Its Instagram also shows spaghetti with meatballs, shrimp pasta, rigatoni and grilled seafood.
The room inside is small but there is a large terrace with more tables, in the El Jardín shopping center in the middle of Jacó. It opens in the afternoons, from 3:00 to 10:30 pm, and closes on Wednesdays. Service is what varies most: some find it good, while one party waited over an hour and a half for two pizzas without an apology, so go unhurried and check the exchange rate if you pay in colones.
