Café Bohío is the second location of the Bohío roasters, in Playa Hermosa, surrounded by mountain and greenery a few steps from the sea. You come here for the coffee: some count it among the best in the area, and regulars who stop by almost every morning single out a spectacular, strong, Italian-style espresso. The table also shows off the banana bread, the pork empanada and a brunch with gallo pinto, omelette, avocado toast, pancakes and dragon fruit or mango bowls with homemade granola.

The mood is relaxed and the service gets praise for being kind and attentive. One visitor missed a beach view: the café sits among trees, not facing the sea. Brunch is served from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, breakfasts run ₡3,500 to ₡5,000, and it is open every day from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is in Playa Hermosa, next to the Interamericana.
