Hermosa Beach Bungalows is a group of individually owned bungalows, each decorated in its own way, with a saltwater pool and a shared rancho, set on the black sand beach in front of the famous Almendro break. Guests single out how clean, quiet and safe it is, and how close to the sea: the houses are roomy and "very well equipped, with everything you need and more," and some guests have come back three times to the same one, Bungalow 5. For families there are gardens, the pool and the rancho, covered parking and pets are welcome, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby.
The hosts, Hugo and Brian, get praise; the site itself says managers live on the property and a night guard is on duty from 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM. It sits in Playa Hermosa, about 10 minutes from Jacó, and without a car cab rides into Jacó add up, which is why they rent cars and arrange airport transfers. Options run from a studio-style apartment for two at $75 a night to 2- and 3-bedroom bungalows and two oceanfront houses (Sloth Life and Casa Barracuda); rates change by season and a 50% deposit confirms the booking.
Individually owned bungalows, each decorated in its own style, around a saltwater pool and a teak rancho. The nightly low-season rate (Sept 15–Dec 14) is shown, valid today; the high-season and holiday rates are in each note. A 50% deposit reserves the stay, with the balance due on arrival.
