Orígenes Lodge is a cluster of five independent houses with organic décor, living roofs, a saltwater pool and gardens, in a quiet corner of Playa Hermosa about 5 km south of the main beach. Guests describe a very clean, calm place in harmony with nature, close to the sea and to a river full of waterfalls: the cabin is spacious and well laid out, with air conditioning, an equipped kitchen and green areas, and one calls it a small hotel with charm, everything brand new. The hospitality of the owners, Álvaro and Jacqui, is what comes up most, and shops, restaurants and beaches are still nearby.
Besides renting villas and rooms, it works as a holistic center, hosting yoga, mindfulness, permaculture and detox retreats, with a meditation dome and a pre-Columbian "seed" built with bio-construction. Breakfast is included, each house has private parking for two cars and children under 5 stay free; pets are not allowed. It sits in Playa Hermosa, about 90 minutes from the San José airport, and arranges excursions such as Tortuga Island, ATV rides and rafting.
