Clarita's stands on the site of an emblematic 1964 hotel and bar, right on the beach near the center of Jacó, reinvented as a resort with modern rooms and an original work of art in each one. Guests describe the rooms as spotless, comfortable and full of tech touches —automatic curtains and smart toilets— with impeccable cleanliness and food of great quality and presentation, both at the main restaurant and at the sushi bar, where the freshness of the sushi stands out.
What comes up most is the service: the staff is friendly and attentive, and waiters William and Luis are named for recommending dishes and drinks without being intrusive; on one birthday night there was also live music from singer Adriana Lobo. There are two oceanfront pools, a rooftop, a spa and a gym with a view, and rates start at about $182 a night for a King bed. It is in Barrio Los Villalobos, in Jacó, about 90 km from the Juan Santamaría airport.
