Horseback Riding Jaco is a family-run outfit with more than six generations of history dedicated to guided horseback rides in Jacó. Riders say the horses are gentle and calm, even for beginners, and that the guides are patient and know the area: Elliot and Teto get called out by name. What people remember most is riding from a forest trail out to the beach, and the sunset ride along the shoreline. The best seller is the Jaco Beach tour ($65 per person), a flat, easy ride to the quiet north end of the beach with a stop for photos and a snack; there is also River Serenity along a riverbed with natural pools ($65), the Enchanted River waterfall hike ($70) and the full moon ride ($50).
Private tours run $75 to $85 per person and include pickup from hotels in the area, and the combos add an ATV or a catamaran. Every tour includes a horse, equipment with a helmet, a guide, snacks and water; children under 6 ride with an adult, and the tours are not suited to guests with limited mobility. They answer from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and are based in Jacó; prices are per person and you book online or by WhatsApp.
