This is Costa Rican buffet cooking: you build your own casado with rice, beans, sweet plantain, salad and beef in sauce or chicken, and the portions are big enough that people leave properly full. Breakfast starts early with gallo pinto and pinto con todo — the pinto gets the most praise — plus a coffee that goes well with it. Soft drinks and flavored water (mango, iced tea, cas) can be refilled.
The place is large and unfussy, on Av. Pastor Díaz in the middle of Jacó, with open-air tables and its own parking lot that people who use it call safe. It is open every day from 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM, with no reservations and delivery available. Prices are easy on the wallet, and what a plate costs depends on what goes on it, so it is worth asking before you serve yourself.
