Little India is Jacó's Indian restaurant, and the flavor starts with the first plate: slow-cooked curries, naan fresh from the tandoor, samosas and tikkas to share, real vegetarian options and dishes of chicken, beef, lamb, fish and shrimp. First-timers walk out talking about an explosion of flavors, and anyone who already knew the cuisine ranks it among the best in Costa Rica; Garlic Naan is the most ordered bread on the menu.
Amrit, the host, is half the experience: his Spanish is perfect, he is attentive and a flat "no" is rarely the answer. The room is small and welcoming, with colorful walls and house drinks, and prices are fair for the quality of the ingredients (mains run about ₡7,500 to ₡12,000). It sits on Avenida Pastor Díaz, 50 meters north of the Red Cross, in Jacó, and opens every day until 10:00 PM.
