Piko Surf Shop is more workshop than store: the word is that Alejandro, "Piko", knows his boards and that anyone who wants a custom one goes to him. One visitor talks about the energy of the place and says it keeps memories of Andy Irons and that Tony Hawk once skated in front of the door; another remembers the good range of surf products and Lost boards, and a halfpipe to skate. Today the catalog includes new Lost, TORQ and Sina Surf boards, leashes, fins, wax and repair gear, plus board rentals and lessons.

The shop is on Route 34 in Jacó and is open every day from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. New boards run between US$619 and US$1,195; wax and accessories range from US$4 to US$155. Rentals, lessons and custom boards are quoted directly at the shop.
