What comes up most is the level of the coaches, Ana and Nico, the couple who run the school. One student says Ana pulled her out of her comfort zone with gentleness and firmness, pushed her to take right-hand waves when her mind clung to the lefts and taught her to do a backside; another highlights that they combine video analysis with out-of-the-water surfskate training to improve technique, and someone who had taken a lesson elsewhere noticed the difference in instructor quality. A group class with Nico on a Sunday included safety instructions, tips for getting started and help and corrections in the water throughout the class.
