Julián and his team are what people mention most: patient, technical and the kind of coaches who set a good mood for the lesson. Before getting in the water they spend real time on theory — the risks of the ocean and how to stand up on the board — and while you wait for a wave there are talks on marine biology and on reading the sea. Afterwards come the video analysis of your technique and the photos from the session. People who came with a niece, with friends or for a first lesson talk about catching plenty of waves, boards in every size, showing up on time and a session that stretches into sunset because nobody wants to get out of the water.
The school works out of the south end of Jacó: the office is at Hotel Amavi, at the corner of Av. Pastor Díaz and Hidalgo Street, and the beach stand is in front of Aloha Restaurant. Lessons are scheduled around the tide, ocean conditions and instructor availability, so it pays to write ahead and let them pick the best time for your level.
1.5-hour surf lessons on Jacó Beach for beginner and intermediate surfers. Surfboard included, and a long-sleeve rash guard is lent if you don’t have one. Lessons are scheduled around the tide, ocean conditions and instructor availability.
Conozco a Julián personalmente y es una persona dedicada y excelente, además de un gran profesional. Es un surfista de élite de Jacó, con un conocimiento enorme del mar y de las olas. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.
