Jacó Bar is a bar with a real kitchen, run by chef Luis Chavarria, who prepares everything from scratch every day because there is no big freezer: burgers from ₡6,500 to ₡8,000, fish tacos, wraps, ceviches, the tropical tuna bowl, wings and grilled octopus with a ginger syrup, plus daily specials you ask the server about. People mention tasty food, generous portions and a fair price, and almost all of them single out the bartenders, Pablo and Verónica, as the best part of the night; one older comment warned to arrive with patience, but the most recent ones praise the service.
It is on the second floor, across from MasXMenos, in the heart of Jacó, with a huge screen that gives it away from the street. It is open every day from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with tables inside and on a balcony, good music and bands, DJs and guest artists that rotate; the drinks list runs from craft beer on tap to margaritas, mojitos and a long list of rum, tequila and whiskey, with a different special every day, like margarita Mondays or discounted wings on Thursdays.
