What one table recommends without hesitation is the avocado stuffed with tuna tartare; the mahi mahi with vegetables also came out well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The menu is fusion —pastas, cuts of meat, seafood, carpaccios, tartares and ceviches— with a vegan, dairy-free section, and El Cafecito breakfasts start early, with paninis and gallo pinto. The US$2 margaritas, at any hour, are the house signature, and the drinks come out well made. A word on gluten-free: what the menu marks as such are the vegan dishes, so anyone who is not vegan has few options.
There are two settings: a dining room with air conditioning and soft lighting, and a covered terrace on Av. Pastor Díaz in Jacó, with live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 p.m. and pets welcome. The waiters get praise for being kind and attentive. Prices on the main menu do not include 13% tax or the 10% service charge; a breakfast guest compares them to the Greater Metropolitan Area.
